Elio the movie - no relation to the vehicle. Still, just the name leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Universal's live-action How to Train Your Dragon will have no trouble staying No. 1 in its second weekend with an estimated $35.7 million despite the entry of zombie sequel 28 Years Later and the animated Elio - which is headed for the lowest opening in the history of Pixar amid a crowded marketplace for family fare.
I wanted to see How to train your dragon but my escort, my 14 year old grandson, over-ruled me, this evening. We saw Jurassic Park 20 years later. It was fantastic! The best movie I've seen in a very long time. We decided it would be a bit too violent to take his young nephews to see. So, the next movie night out with the two little boys will be the How to train your dragon. That sounds more up their alley.

Sorry some or you guys had problems with your solar panels. Our company came out and installed all the electronics, 32 large panels and 2 huge batteries in the garage, and did it all in just a few days. Now, all we're waiting on is our current power company to come and disconnect us, then our solar company (Trismart) says they can hook us up in about a hour. We don't expect to have zero power bills, just a lot less than before.

You might want to put this in another forum. I hit search forum and typed TESLA. This is where it took me.
DUDES, I GOT A RIDE IN A TESLA YESTERDAY! Yea, ME! It was nuts! My 15 year old grandson and I went to the mall, just the two of us. We went to Spencers and the head shops, the T-shirt and Posters shops, the gadgets stores, like teenagers do. Well, there is the middle of the mall was a TESLA, model Y on display. OH, I had to check it out and Jesse was just as excited. It was all black and sexy. It was more exciting than seeing that black ELIO, many years ago. (see avatar). Sure enough, the salesman asked if we wanted to sit in it. We did. Then the man took us outside for a test ride. I sat in the back, in the middle, so I can see the display. Jesse sat up front in the passenger seat. This one was gray with white seats, and the dashboard was like a spaceship. The man programed the on-screen computer to take us to steak and shake. And it did. It was black Friday, traffic was dangerous. It drove like a chariot and parked by itself. All the while the salesman yelped his speech, Jesse and I were falling in love. My heart was fluttering; my head was spinning. The man asked about the vehicle I had. I proudly told him about my cherry red, 2000 Mercury, Grand Marquis and asked him to drop us off near it, so we can go home. He tapped the screen, again and the model Y drove straight to it and parked next to it. The salesman noticed my license plate and asked knowingly if I was a veteran. TEN POINTS YOUNGMAN! Usually, men folk ask if my husband is a veteran, which really pisses me off. My dreams and saving for my four Elios is in jeopardy, just saying.
I believe you, Gentlemen, are the only ones in the world I can share this with. Thanks for being here for me.

Johnj, Woo, Thank you!
After watching ABOVE TOP SECRET, I'm even more convinced that I already was, that there are people out there who actively want to make sure we don't get a car like the Elio. Just today I saw on the news that the price of an "average" new car in the U.S. is now over $50,000. To make even more money and get even richer, they want us to buy $50k cars that only get 25 mpg, not $20k cars that get 75mpg.

And ten years ago, you could get one for $10K --
View attachment 27161

On the road and out the door, mine was $11,400 (taxes, tags, everything)

And my city/highway combined MPG is 39.5 to 41.1 (long term average) depending on A/C usage.
There are a few affordable cars on the market (well below the $50K average) and likely cheaper and safer than any new startup 3 wheeler concept that makes it to market. My interest in the 3 wheeler Elio was based on the impossible to achieve marketing hype.…….under $6800, high MPG, 5 Star Safety. It would have been a practical “&” Vehicle…..a supplement to the family car. As a skeptic, I always assumed a roll out $20K providing it ever made it to market.
