Official Website Production Date?

I look at the official site now and again, and I noticed the last few times I can't find an expected production date anymore. Am I just missing it?

I do feel if they don't know its best to keep it off, as not to give possible reservation holders false incentive to sign up. Also makes me wonder if the middle of next year is even still valid.

I don't see it either. It's one of those double-edged swords: if they mention a date, and miss it (as they have done now about 3 times), then they get hammered about missing a date. Plus those that have a reservation want to know how come the date has been removed.

Then, if they don't mention a date, those that don't have a reservation want to know when it's coming out.

I know on 3 or 4 other vehicles that are "coming soon" that I've researched, over the past few months, I can't find any date about when they will be available.

Bottom line, as those of us on this forum know, is that until funding is captured, there's no way to predict a production date. Uuuuuuuunfortunately.

Interesting. I really feel that if they don't meet the deadline this time that it will be over for Elio. I don't think they will get another extension from RACER. That said, I still believe they will meet it. Call me gullible or whatever.

If EM got funding tomorrow they will miss the 2016 production date. IF the new engine was rolling out and dropped into 25 prototypes and they were in the process of testing, tooling the plant, and hiring 1500 plant workers, I believe this current 'final' extension would more likely be extended one last time as a show of good faith.

I have no faith, am certainly not guillible, but am hopeful. The answer may be somewhere in the ECloud.

Talked with the reps today at Southdale Mall in Edina MN and they said latest prediction is 1st qtr 2016. I think that might be a bit ambitious..

that's good to hear .... my hope was for the line to begin rolling by mid 2016, having it do so in the first quarter would be even better .... for this to become a reality, we should soon be seeing signs of progress

Starting to get concerned myself. May be my nature but having experiences with vapor-ware and other claims of production, I'm getting antsy. Goes with the territory I guess but sure would like to see a production date that will be met. Put a date up and make it happen.

I think they should go public and give everyone an opportunity to invest in the company. It would solve the financing problem, and give those who really believe an opportunity to share in the success!

Look at history. Most of the time, the best way to completely wreck a good private company is to do an IPO.
I fear that the Elio you would get from a publicly owned company would be a whole lot different than the present conception.
