Strike while the companies are looking to shut down rigs? That doesn't make sense. "Wanna go on strike? Fine. Go right ahead. We were trying to shut down half our rigs anyway."

The time to strike is when you are in high demand. I wouldn't think striking when in an industry downturn would make sense. Maybe I'm missing something?

If I was in charge, I'd welcome a strike so I could get rid of people I'd just have to be laying off any way.

Keep in mind that the oil industry is also having labor problems.
Strikes in Texas, California, and I think Tennessee.
Not very smart IMHO because the oil companies are laying off people and I don't believe strikers are eligible for unemployment and you can be sure union strike money is far less. Oil companies must love this.
