Again, what the hell is the big deal calling this a motorcycle..26 of the 52 states require helmets. According to Elio only 5 of them will require a helmet to be worn while driving this product.. But in all 52 it will be titled, registered and most likely insured as a motorcycle.. Deal with it, get your endorsement..In those 5 states solicit your dmv to not require a helmet when an enclosed motorcycle has a seat belt installed.The bottom line is it is a motorcycle with a steering wheel instead of handle bars.. If I happen to be traveling through one of those 5 states I'll wear a quarter helmet, perfectly legal, light weight and looks like a ball cap..Those of us who ride know that a helmet does not mean a full face , but for those who don't here are your options, full face, full helmet , half helmet and quarter helmet which weighs a fraction of a full and is very comfortable and again LEGAL..

And you can get your $40 ebay special to carry in the back if you go through one of the states that require it. You can even get them in the color of your Elio! Seriously, by the time we get our Elios, most of this stuff should be worked out. And on a practical note, I don't see too many Troopers stopping me to hassle me about a helmet. I expect more stop me for the "What is this" theme. But I will still carry a list of the exemptions for each state just in case.

Great additiona Pics H2O, and FYI 3 Card, if I'm not mistaken, you don't need a motorcycle lic to drive a Can-Am in Florida, so I doubt you would need on for an autocycle.

Have any of you read EM website about how they are going to sell Elio and the options? There are NO dealers. Paul Elio is totally against the traditional dealership model. Why do you think the auto dealerships are fighting Tesla. They also don't want the traditional dealership model. The price in Elio's sales room will be the price with a 20% markup for profit. That's it. No packages, no add ons. Anyone get it yet?

I've uploaded 10 images here, many are similar to what you have seen before but I think there wil be 3-4 from unique vantage points and or different angles.

One in particular really put the lines and rear end in a different perspective for me.

You could be right but Florida dmv told me that an endorsement is required before a MC tag can be issued .. So I am confused.. I did send Rickb an email of apoligy, I really feel like ..I didn't know it was his age that bothered him about getting an endorsement..I'll soon be 66 and have more riding days behind me than in front..If I had not motorcycle experience I'd be down right terrified to learn much less taking a damn test today..Sometimes we shove a boot up our own ass by speaking witout knowing all the facts..

I too will be 66 in August. USMC 66-69. Kept my motorcycle lic from Colorado when I retired in Florida 7 yrs ago.
