Pep Boys To Provide Service / Maintenance

Another approach might be for all the Elio folks to pop into their local PBs and start asking questions. Maybe if enough sales folks and their managers get repeated questions they might ask questions of their bosses. Regional bosses ask questions of their boss and so on. Squeaky wheels.

Wouldn't that be a great idea, didn't want to open a can of worms, but since i asked them the other day it was still on my mind, Paul Elios, if you are out there on the beach enjoying the sun while the rest of us working slobs slave, maybe you can check your IPAD if you read these forums which i would hope you do as WE are all people supporting you, and would just like some reassurance besides a few pictures of a shut down plant with a bunch of equipment piled up. Hope I didn't pay $1000 for a T shirt and bumpersticker

Has anyone heard if any of PB's top tech guys are 'in the room' watching as the Elio moves along the development phase? Seems like it would be a good idea. I go through a lot of Stihl chainsaws and their local service guys attend classes regularly. They and their bosses are encouraged to offer suggestions and ideas to top level Stihl R&D. Many of these ideas come straight from the guys out in the woods running the saws day in and day out.
Now- I'm not saying a PB tech should be involved in the design phase (not saying they shouldn't be either) but it seems like they would want to know how it goes together from the ground up.

The one thing of the whole Pep Boys bunch knowing of the upcoming partnership, if nothing else would be a good morale booster for the employees and incentive for them to stay with the company as a much brighter future for them. Its not a secret that shouldn't get out as to cause ire with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wall Street to manipulate stock prices of Pep Boys, if we know, why shouldn't they, is all i am asking, not trying to put a damper on anybody's plans, just wanted to know why and if anyone else knew anything. Guess we will all find out if and when it happens, and best of luck to us all.

Another thought:
Imagine if you knew you were going to be the service guy for something that had never been built before... Even if you had absolutely no say in R&D it would be quite an opportunity to watch it come together.
I've heard many a car mechanic curse the guys that designed a particular part of a car. Like having to remove a front wheel to change an oil filter. Sometimes a guy with plain old common sense can see something the engineers can't.
