I sure hope the reservations after 65000 don't get ahead of those placed in the first 65000. A $1000 reservation should not get ahead of the $100, $250 and $500 for example.
That is probably still happening, but I suspect there will be an end to it at some point. I now have one $500 All-In and a $100 All-In and both have commitments to purchase. Until told otherwise, the new $1k All-Ins are still jumpling in front of us and getting their SIL under the terms spelled out. While I expect that to change, they haven't said it will or even hinted at doing so. But they still have to pay the full price which is targeted at $7450 base now while I'm locked in at $7K before discounts.

I don't know about you, but $8500 (new base with AT) is still a long way from $10k.

This will not bring in too many reservations. With this new price and and automatic transmission, the car is close to ten thousand. There are lots of good used cars for ten thousand.

Don't know how much I'd worry about 'Samalross' issue.
After all, he is from Toronto.
If you check the current exchange rate, $8500 US = $11,473.77 Canadian.
At this point I would guess there are still import issues to deal with before he can get one.

I was referring to future buyers. $7450 plus auto, PDI and shipping will take it to $9000. A few options will make it $10k. Early reservationists will by down to about $8k for an automatic.

$450? Where do you get that number from?
$7450 for a new buyer minus $7000 for a locked in buyer before discounts. I don't include prepayment amounts since it is still out of my pocket. Taxes are not different since they are paid for both new and used vehicles.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that's where he got the number.
