You can't use those on the street legally; they're considered a distraction; just like flashing lights under the car.
That's for WA state, I can't say that it's legal or illegal everywhere, but check your local laws on this subject.
Plus those TireFlys would be good from the side; not so much from the front.
Reflector tape can work, but driving lights would be bouncing all over the place.
I'd say the same about having lights on the fenders facing rearward. I know some think it'll save them for when someone tries to pass them within a foot or two of the main cabin but they won't. What they WILL do is be a bouncing night-vision destroying distraction. You really don't want to have to see those lights every time you drive your Elio at night. I'm really glad Ford put the mirror lights in a spot where the driver can't see them. I wonder if they did research before doing that... I'm betting they did.

What about those old bicycle flags with the long tether you used to put on your banana seat bikes when we were younger ? :p

huh ? huh ? one on each fender, maybe some curb feelers...those lights they used to use under the body to glow at night ... yeahhhhh

I'm thinking a pole sticking straight up with a spotlight shining on my entire Elio... which will be painted entirely with reflective paint.
