Simple, the iPad remembers all wifi hotspots that you ever successfully connect to, you don't have to do ANYTHING special at all, it's just part of how the iPad is made. The only thing that would cause it to forget them is if you have to restore the iPad or do a "network settings reset". But that's not something that 95% of people will ever encounter.
