OK. I really didn't realize that so many people enjoy being cold and wet. I never really liked it that much, but figured it's the price of the ride. I've been on plenty of trips that had freezing cold temps and torrential downpours, snow, hail, and everything else nature can throw at you, including the deer jumping out. Here in the great white north I don't see a lot of bikes out this time of year. I kinda figured a more practical, year-round version of a bike would appeal to lots of riders, but I guess that's just me then. This morning was -17 degrees so I won't be taking the bike to work, but I'll be looking for those 'dedicated' riders out there.
Some of the rides with the worst weather are the most remembered ones. 750 miles from Gatlinburg home never stopped raining. Wanted to get back for Grandson birthday. Mid winter ride caught in snow, when it became to much to deal with a nice weekend in a great motel. Few rides out west taught us how a fried egg feels. Using hot coffee to clean ice off the windshield . Those rides come up more often than the uneventful ones.
Then somedays you just have to get everyone's car out of the way plow the snow and get the old one out and go.

Hate I missed you Smitty. I'm 60 miles from Gatlinburg, and would have liked to of been of help to you then. I stand behind ALL of my Elio brothers and sisiters. BTW. If anyone ever finds themselves in east Tennessee needing anything, I will always do my best to help! We are all on the same team.

Gatlinburg is a great place to ride out of. We often spend two weeks riding the area . You just can not go wrong any direction you head out.
Two years ago we logged 5000 miles there. As of now it looks like we will be heading back around the end of May. Had planned on a trip to Shreveport and look over ELIO plant but that just did not seem very productive this year.

taking 441 from Gatlinburg over to Cherokee and back is a fun ride .... its a bit over 35 miles and takes something over an hour (one way) .... expand that going on to Robbinsville and ride the Dragon and you've had a good day ... one way from Gatlinburg to Cherokee to the Dragon is just under a hundred miles and takes about two hours and a half

Daily ride for us is about 8 hours. We did rode the Dragon 9 times in one day long story. Hit the end of it and go to TN/NC boarder and enjoy another great ride.
Then of course there is the short interesting road right in Gatlinburg Roaring forks road. One often missed but it worth the time

I know at least one under 25 who is interested in an Elio. My 9 year old has asked numerous times if he can have my Elio when he turns 16! lol

Well I know a 16 year old that wants the keys.. I gave her a car that gets about 28 mpg she has found out what gas cost now that she is driving alone.
She saw the 84 mpg and liked that idea
