I think Elio should offer this engine as an "option", along with some Z rated tires! I want 2...one stock & one "SS" version (with that Nissan engine)! Can I still get 84+ mpg?!? :D

I would say no, but you would get to where you're going faster. Oh and the price would be as least quadrupled, if not more.

I cannot imagine the tire that would grip without slip for that kind of power and a 1200 lb vehicle. I had my 3700 lb BMW 335d with the JBD chip installed. In theory, 300 bhp and 525 ft lb of torque. Burned through four sets of tires in 65k miles slipping and sliding around. My kids know what cooked rubber smells like and would come home and rat me out to the wife (my 16 year old daughter knows how to drift).

That Nissan motor and this Elio are like dynamite and a lit fuse. Totally unpredictable other than when bad things happen they will be very bad indeed.

Probably but with two wheels only having to move 1450 lbs (driver and fuel), it shouldn't sit and spin too much. In fact, using 1450 lbs and 400 hp, the 0-60 time should be about 2.062 seconds!

Further, the 1/4 mile time would be 8.948 seconds!

To be fair, here are the same numbers using our 55 :p motor:

0-60=10.52
1/4 mile= 17.33

For fun, here they are at 75 :p and 1,450 lbs
0-60= 8.34
1/4 mile= 15.63
