Still can't quite tell, from this angle, if there is a cover over the shocks as seen in the blue rendering. But I guess we'll all know on the 19th.
The lack of shadow, dimming near the body, or secondary red light reflection on the lower A-Arm says likely not.

On top of that, the cover would be rather difficult to install. It would either need to be multiple pieces or installed as the suspension system is assembled. The first method would be expensive and prone to coming loose and the second would make repairs difficult.

The relationship between premium fuel and forced induction is more complicated than that. Traditionally, in the US market, turbos and superchargers were added to existing engines that were designed to run on regular unleaded. The increased pressure ratios (which are integral to the engine design to some extent) caused detonation to occur on regular fuel. Increasing the octane rating of the fuel helped offset that problem (high octane rated gas is actually somewhat more difficult to ignite, so it burns rather than explodes helping prevent knock, aka detonation). Now with computer controlled valves and spark timing, higher pressure ratios (with or without forced induction) can be used with regular gas because the engines detect knock and pull timing and/or adjust the valve opening height/duration to run safely in the corner cases that would have caused damage before.

Additionally, the vehicles from the factory with forced induction engines used to just be high-performance sports cars where paying a bit more for premium fuel was an acceptable trade. Now that gas prices are expected to be higher for the foreseeable future, OEMs are also going to turbos for regular and utility vehicles more frequently since they can get similar power/performance and better fuel efficiency from a lower displacement engine (at added cost). These new turbocharged engines are being designed to work on regular gas because they're intended to save fuel and be more "green" rather than being a costly high-performance option.

When we start talking about turbo charging or super charging we need to keep in mind the Elio is fuel injected so spark knock and compression are different than the older engines that sucked fuel in with the air.
