I hate to hear that about the winter blend fuel .... our Sportchassis doesn't like that stuff at all

It's necessary in diesels to keep them from gelling up in winter, with gasoline it's just an emissions mandate. So I burn more fuel to pollute less? "Does Not Compute".

Well to be fair that is Needles. Kind of the middle of nowhere by CA standards. They love to gouge on gas in those areas.

I used to live in the area and If you get two blocks off the highway you will find stations at less than $2.50 per gallon.

^^ That's true almost anywhere. In Houston we have gas in the neighborhoods under $2/gal, I just bought gas tonight at an independent station for $1.96. Closer to the freeways or on the service roads you can expect to pay as much as 25¢ to 35¢/gal more. Stay away from airports and their rental car return facilities where everybody gasses up their rent-a-wreck on the way to the return lot rather than pay $5/gallon at the counter. The local Shell station at HOU was selling UL Reg for $2.46. Ouch.
