I am at the point of giving up. Expected to have my Elio years ago. I just replaced my really old high mileage vehicle with another car. Now if Elio ever happens, I am not sure what I may do. I would guess this is true for the 65,000+ that reservations they had. This is a great loss of a fantastic dream. There are many billionaires that could have invested but never asked.

I can understand your frustration and doubts. I have my own as well.

However, I’m hanging in there and will buy one -hands down- if it makes it to market.
While I’m hoping Paul can get the job done and I’m rooting for him - if it comes to a point where he’s got no more swings left - I really hope he’ll hand off to someone else. This vehicle can impact so many lives in a positive way. It needs to be rolling down the highways across the country getting people to work - while saving them money.

Paul.... if you’re reading these posts.... please give us any kind of update.
Also - is there anything the “average guy” can do to help?

I agree with John. I'm going to have to give up.
The Elio web site hasn't been updated in years. I never hear anything in the news about Elio anymore. Has anything new happened? What road blocks are in the way for Elio? Give us some kind of news.

I feel like we've been hung out to dry.

You guys never gave up and never will. You have a car that will cost you $5500 out of pocket. It's that you are upset because it's not here today. If tomorrow, Elio has a press release that tells all of you that the project is fully funded and all of those early supporters will get their vehicle next year, then there will be discussions about making a garage space for my Elio, what oil goes in my Elio, what 202 trips you have planned with your Elio. I bet many will just check out the local Pep Boys and get to know the service department as you'll be there for those extra Elio accessories you need to have because you seen it here.

You know that you check every day and will for the next 10 years. If this goes on for another 10 years, you will have the deal of the century as the cheapest car you can get by then will cost 10X over what you will pay for the Elio because you have that ironclad contract. Even if you move on, that contract is going up in value every year as cars go up in price and the Elio never does. Consider it an investment because getting a massive discount on a new car in 2029 even if you lose your spot in line, is well worth it.

That will be a decision we will make if funding and production ever happens. I just do not see that as a possibility based on the last 4 plus years history. I think many or most of the 65,000 have moved on and taken the loss.

I think many if not most of the 65,000 would still buy it if available. There’s still not a vehicle on the road that would come close to its value.

There was a time when I would think about my future Elio each day in some way or other. I was lured by the prospect of a replacement for one of my vehicles and it seems to be a great value for that. I do not need three vehicles for my family -- just two. Through the years waiting, the debate of wait or replace has surfaced. My only beef of how this has been handled is that we were all told of a date when it was expected to be built and we factor that into our lives. "They" decided their need to acquire money was greater than whatever extra drama it might cause in their customers' lives. "That's business" I hear; but it is a particular form of business. Another part of this dream car was that the company cared about its customer base -- to a greater extent than the average business. I do not know if this is just something I tell myself or something they promoted; but the idea was a factor in my decision to join. I have since seen things that have changed my mind on that front. This is, at least to some in power to steer things, just a business -- a business whose first job (possibly only job) is to its shareholders is to make money. If that is indeed true, all of the rest of this is just a show we have all paid the price of admission to -- and not a terribly good show at that.
