This caught my eye. It makes sense to me, since a lot of the younger and/or lower income crowd may have interest but not be able to "gamble" on something that might not happen, or even tie up their money for a year or more before getting anything in return.

I know there are exceptions, I'm just speaking generally here.

Once you can actually buy an Elio, I think you'll see a lot more interest from the younger crowd.

I hope you're right; the young seem to like crowding together like spawning salmon, so a tandem 2-seater may not grab them. On the other hand, they're all for the cool factor, and the Elio could score big on that criterion.

I agree. You nailed it. Someone just starting off could pay a $131 car note per month but would be less likely to put down $100 to secure an Elio.

Besides, other than supporting the idea, what do you really get?

If you are the last reservation maker, you'd get $25 off the price of the car (25% matching starts soon), but if you used a credit card that you didn't pay off that year, you are out, what, $19 in interest (remember, just starting out - not much credit) anyway. So, your $100 investment nets them 6% for the year IF Elio comes through. The only real benefit is getting their Elio (remember, they invested late) a month or two before the general population gets a chance to buy one. And that financial decision just doesn't make a lot of sense.

So, the people investing are the people who want to support the idea, have the income available, don't mind the wait, already have transportation, or just want a toy. There are exceptions, but that's my thought.

Numbers are not always released the same number of days apart. We always post them based on the date provided by EM. I did not bother to check earlier dates.

Don't be surprised if the moderators move this to the Reservation forum. They try to keep things more or less organized by subject/category.

I hope you enjoy this journey to Elio production and ownership. If you have a reservation, I hope you will complete the Reservation Survey so your name can be added to our map. It is fun and interesting to see where our fellow Elioites will be parking and driving their Elios. :-) Z
