Are they pulling a George Jones, no show Elio?

Hmmm, that sucks. I assume all of Texas is out, until permits are scheduled and acquired.

First I want to say this is speculation because I am not in the know but. . . . . . Look at the tour event schedule. They are/were scheduled to be in Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Diego, Albuquerque. Now they are scheduled in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Albuquerque. Are you getting the picture here? Think of the expense and time involved moving the Elio from CA to TX and back to CA and then NM. It makes much more sense to go from CA to NV to CA to NM. And the Barrett Jackson is a huge show that has benefited EM when they have been present in the past. Logistically and financially this is a better deal for them plus they have already been in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas this year. So that is my not at all humble opinion. I am very sorry for everyone who is disappointed. And I mean that very sincerely because I have been there, done that. :-) Z

Reservation Holders, Friends and Followers of Elio,

Regrettably, Elio Motors is not participating in the Texas State Fair on Sept. 26-30. Texas has recently modified the permitting process required to display a vehicle in the state. Given Elio Motors did not receive notification of this new requirement until earlier this week, we are not able to secure the required approvals from the state in time to participate. Rest assured that going forward Elio Motors will continue to work with the State of Texas to ensure we can come back and show the Elio as soon as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes our customers who made travel plans to visit us at the Fair.

Z, I don't know if you realized this yet however we recently figured out how to give you control of both the current list of events and also the past events list so you can now just cut the old event out of the current list and paste it into the past events.

Actually I noticed but had already deleted the San Pedro event when I discovered it. I guess I can go to the California forum and rescue it to cut and paste. Since no one said anything I wasn't sure what to do and have been gone so much this week I didn't even have time to think about it. I will make sure I remember to do both. Yep!! I smell somthing...... But it's not coming from the ELIO camp.
Deductive reasoning leads me to believe it's coming from the 'Texas Auto Manufacturers' (if there are any) or the 'Texas Car Dealer Association', or both, in bed with the politicians.

I imagine that will be determined by the management of the mall. Most mall events are during regular mall hours and that means they do have time to set up before the mall opens in the morning, usually at 10 am. :-) Z

10-4, info appreciated .... we are going to try and get there early Friday morning, we are scheduled to leave as early as possible to haul our camper to a club Christmas outing and I'm trying to figure out just how early we can go to the exhibit and get back home

Yes for real. This is perfect to feed a conspiracy theory about big oil politics (or Automotive Retailers). Even if such a thing were true, Texas politicians can't control the Elio. It would be like a flea steering a cat at this point.

Yes there will be an entrance fee to Barrett Jackson. I would check the Barrett Jackson Website for details as there are many different rates available.
