Tongue weight 20-50# and a 300-500# trailer, should not be a major problem; but trailer 'brakes' would be a big help.
Just threw those figures out there from 'past experience', driving a Subaru BRAT, pulling a small utility trailer (Max load was about 500#)... also had a 'hitch rack' that carried a 60# ParaMotor...... without any problems. BUT a prudent driver; always tailors his/her driving..... to the load he/she is hauling. Don't think I'd use the 'hitch rack' on a 3 wheel Elio!

Wow you built your own camper? Cool please post pics of it open and the interior.

Ray

It's nothing fancy. Just a box made out of plywood. Right now it is stored away in the back corner of my garage so I can't take any pictures. I have one vent in it but it needs more because I sometimes get a lot of condensation inside.

You actually get in that? Yikes! Definitely not for the claustrophobic. LOL

Getting in and out is not easy but I only use it a couple of times a year while bow hunting. I should have made it a bit taller but I am cheap and I would have had to buy another piece of plywood plus my gas mileage would have been worse.

Here's one I took a picture of a few years ago, when I was on vacation in AlaskaView attachment 582
The Goldwing has about twice the HP and half the weight of an Elio. Honda dose not recommend they be used for towing. I'm not sure about the Goldwing but many bike warranties are void if a hitch is installed.

As far as I know EM has only said there will be a way to attach a hitch. We desperately need EM to speak up so we can end the speculation. The weak spot will be the trans. If it's going to provide any towing capacity it needs to be designed in.

I found a trailer company that will build to suit at a reasonable price.. I asked them to make one over the phone that would haul my bike with doors on both sides , windows with screens so I could back my bike out and camp in it at rallys.. Like ordering from Elio I had no idea what it would look like until I picked it up.. Funny the price of it Was $6800.00 also..So I will probably trust them to do a small one For my 3-wheel .. Here is a picture of it connected to my Jeep and one of inside..Not exactly what I had in mind but can't complain, color matches and looks decent when towing..
