Have you all discussed how to best approach obstacles, potholes, road debris, and such?
I think that rear wheel is going to take more abuse than the front wheels. I just hope it is constructed of a material that can take harsh bumps and not bend out of round. Most holes that you steer around are followed by the rear wheels, but on the Elio this will not occur. I have also observed large heaving of the pavement on some blacktop roadways right in the center where no wheels travel and it looks menacing. I guess on those roads we'll have to drive about 12" closer to the shoulder to alleviate those raised ridges.

I presume that the rear wheel will have some sort of enhanced suspension system. I also suspect that eventually that rear tire will get wider to mitigate that concern.

Hi Hilley goat, yes we've discussed how to best approach problems in the Elio, many moons ago. I can remember discussions about how the driver will be in the center of the vehicle, so that will help with visual accuracy. Also, a slight swerve once the front wheels are past the obstacle might help at speeds of 35 or less. For clearance, it's supposed to be similar to a Ford Mustang.
