I'm glad I got to meet both of you and show you some of our wild world of FIRST Robotics. Unfortunately I never got to meet Comptrex. I went by his pit a dozen times but the drive team was not there. Drive teams spend a lot of time in the dome.

We made it to our division finals before being narrowly defeated by the alliance that went on to win it all. So close...

I actually walked by your pit a few times as well. You were there once, but deeply engrossed, so I decided to let you work.

EKH and I had no responsibility so we had the time to wait for both of you. What a great opportunity to meet fellow Elio supporters and be exposed to a unique and very satisfying competition. Still a little in awe of the sheer number of kids, their amount of focus and the rush of excitement when you enter the arena or pits.

I read this morning there were 29,000 kids at the dome. I'm guessing there were another 10,000 mentors and volunteers.

There are lots of 100-kid teams. We just can't herd that many cats and only had the 13 most deserving there.

We had about 20 people total. I'm guessing 12 or so kids, the rest mentors. I should probably know this, but I was pretty focused on just the kids I was responsible for. We'd hate to lose any.

Besides the 'put the time in' comment you've made previously, how does one fall into the 'most deserving' category?
I'm curious because the way we typically pick drivers is based upon age (seniors), instead of talent / willingness to put in practice time. That may change this next year.
