Definitely not my idea to get up at 0230. But these planes aren't going to build themselves! [Thankfully!!]

Edit: It just dawned on me. If you guys keep upping the ante on what these robots of yours can do, I might just be able to sleep in some day.

Our machines have an operational life of about six hours. Make sure to choose your one morning off well!

Lots of top notch teams there.
Should be interesting.
I've heard two things:
One, that it's fun. Since it's not an official event, it really doesn't mean anything so it's a more relaxing time.
Two: Egos are involved and everyone wants to shine!
Kind of like an NBA All Star game. Doesn't count, but egos are on display!

IRI is invitation only. You have to submit an application and video, and they decide who's good enough to go.

Both. Some teams are intensely competitive and a few will even have completely new machines with them. The only CT team I see on the list (195) doesn't do anything just for fun. Other teams will have beat-up machines and new drive teams. We would be in that category if we were there.

Us as well.
We haven't touched the bot in a while. We only have three kids who are going, and none of them have driven before! Should be interesting!

I'm an old infantryman and all those robotics are well beyond my comprehension. Your kids are so much smarter about them. Hope they do really well
