If they did that, they would open themselves up to a whole host of lawsuits based on breach of contract, breach of merchantability, false advertising, etc. I suspect the Elio that comes out of the factory will effectively be what we've all been seeing; whether that final product is a pile of dung will then be up to you, but if they provide a vehicle that conforms to what they've been disclosing up to the point of actual manufacturing, it might be tough to support a lawsuit.

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is; I have faith that EM is in for the long run and is not willing to put their reputation and good will at risk by putting out a substandard product.

They would not be open to lawsuits because of the way everything was worded when we threw our money at them.
And this latest "commitment" is a commitment on our part and has nothing at all to do with EM committing to anything beyond a set price.

I ACTUALLY HAVE 4 RESERVATIONS . THE FIRST TWO HAVE PRODUCTION NUMBERS .
THE SECOND TWO ARE $100 NON REFUNDABLES .

THIS WAS A SPECULATION TO SELL TWO ADDITIONAL CARS AT A PROFIT AFTER THE ELIO
HITS THE MARKET , DEMAND GOES CRAZY & TWO YEARS PRODUCTION IS SOLD OUT .

I HAVE WONDERED FOR SOME TIME IF THE PRICE WILL CREEP UP ONCE THEY
START CRANKING THEM OUT IN NUMBERS .

it is not letting me lock in it keeps coming back with a pop up saying i do not have a non refundable reservation. only problem with that is I have had a 1000 all-in reservation since July 2014 and have been giving my spot in line # of 5701. has anyone else had this problem?

Including one of our distinguished moderators.
Someone has posted that EM is aware of the problem and is working on it.
