I'm at the ALL IN $1000 level and got the MTX StreetAudio iX1 Headphones, a shirt and bumper sticker with my ALL IN committment. They arrived last week. The headphones are incredible. They sound as good if not better than my DR DRE BEATS. From what I understand, this company is a partner with ELIO MOTORS and will have some impact on our ELIO soundsystem.

From the MTX Web site:

But they go on to say:
Features
  • Made for Apple Mic/Remote Control
  • Audio Compatible with Most Devices
  • Daisy Chain Capability With No Y Adaptor Necessary
  • Tangle Resistant Cable
  • Includes Protective Zippered Carrying Case

So the Apple part is only for the Apple Mic/Remote Control.

If you just want to us them as headphones, and not a headset, they will work on any device.
They do have a standard 3.5mm jack on them; and use the device they are hooked to as the volume control.

I would contact MTX and ask them about it.
It just doesn't sound right that they would make a Headphone for just Apple, but not say it in the main advertisement.
They do say: "mp3 player, smartphone, tablet, or computer."
MP3 and not just Nano or iPad.

Someone else in this thread has them, and he never said it was for Apple only.

Thanks Jambe; the Apple only just really didn't sound right.

I have used mine with multiple devices. I'm using the plain cord (without mic and buttons) plugged into the left side jack. When plugged in the right side, it didn't sound quite right to me.

i purchased a pair since I was due to replace a 7 year old headset for the computer.

It works with Apple, Android and PC.
Yes it comes with 2 cords, 1 for apple devices and 1 for everything else.

Overall, it's a high quality headset. It shuts out noise from the outside world, but it's due to the ear seal, not any active noise cancelling like Bose headsets.
Sound quality is better than average. Good low response. Frankly, I'm happy with it.
the cord can be plugged to the left or right side. I'd like to see this industry wide.
The cord is thick and also high quality, although I wish it was longer.

The down side is the head slamping force is a little higher than I'm used to. I hope it will decrease as I use it more.

You can daisy chain the headset so if someone wants to listen, they can plug into the unused port and instant music.
Buuuut, if someone DOES daisy chain, you have less volume and quality.

So, for $60, it's a good deal.

for $200, I'd get Bose.

I ordered these and got mine about a month ago. Tonight I finally got around to actually use them. To say I am pleasantly surprised is an understatement. They are a bit snug, but I figured they would be as I have a large head, which unfortunately does not correspond to a large brain. I have only used them to listen to, and watch, YouTube videos, so I know the sound compression is nowhere near optimal. But, wow, these things are awesome for the nice Elio price of $60!

Listened to a live Neil Young w/ Crazy Horse (my favorite by far) and some Virgil Fox (how is that for disparity?) I can only imagine at this point how awesome these must be if there was no, or very little, sound compression involved. I am not an avid audiophile by any means, but these far surpassed what I was expecting for sure.

I really really hope that the sound system in our Elio's is somewhere close to what these headphones offer as I do enjoy the music on the road to while away the commute. Windows up, windows down, I wanna hear and enjoy what the world has to offer while on the road...
