Elio's plan was/is to build the 1st 100 pre-production at the Shreveport plant, they have not opened operations there as far as I know.
Common sense makes me believe they want to get the Engineering, (E series), as close to finished as possible before opening Shreveport.
Here is a News Release from March 11, 2016.

Wouldn't it been better for Elio to at least acknowledge that from March to today, that those 100 pre production units never happened as opposed to just ignoring that press release completely and leave the investors just guessing and sending emails to the company with no response whatsoever to the specific question.

Don't get me wrong, Elio has a great product but just don't make an official announcement and then just act like it never happened because you never did what you stated you'd do.

Who said that they never notified the Fleet owners that they wouldn't be done in 2016?
Ever think that because we've not part of that chosen group nothing was said to them?
You are assuming quite bit in your statement.

Paul did say in one of his interviews that the 100 would be Q3 2017, and production in Q4 2017

It is really getting to the point that what is said, even in news, doesn't matter anywhere as much as what gets done.

I think we are under-estimating the impact to all risk taking that current uncertainty about recent politics is having. I definitely do not want to spark any discussion about THAT, but Just as it applies to individuals taking risks or even seriously considering listening, January and February are not good this year for people trying anything new. I know LOTS of people claim to be excited and invigorated, but I don't see it in the behavior. I certainly want to wait and see how things are going before I'm optimistic about world trade.

Everyone seems to be waiting for the next shoe to drop before they know what they should do next. I think that stalemate can be easily overturned once Elio Motors next succeeds at something concrete, even if it's just a couple x 10 million more invested.

You have to remember what he's trying to accomplish. It would be like if I decided to climb Mt. Everest by myself. I can have all of the grit and determination of anyone, but I do have to be realistic. This is where Elio should have started off a bit smaller as opposed to going from nothing to trying to produce 250K cars per year that is going to meet some lofty goals. Maybe like 20K per year for 2014-2015, then a updated version and a production increase of 20K per year for 2016-2017. Cash flow is key at this point. We can talk about how Tesla is still in the red but they have cash flow and are producing product. In addition to that, he had a boatload of personal money he threw at the project early on. From the looks of things, Elio did not have that kind of initial capital, thus has been behind the 8 ball from the very beginning.
