What will Acrimoto and Sondors do for parts and service? Just like with Elio, they can't build perfection and most of your customers do not have the ability to work on it. Elio has Pep Boys and Elio will fill in the Pep Boys gaps (i.e. St. Louis) with an alternate service/parts/warranty/recall center. Elio is covered with the US but these others, I have not heard a thing. If I buy an Arcimoto and come to find out that it needs a controller for the motor, who is going to fix it? If I own a Polaris ATV or Ranger, I have 4 dealers within 25 miles of my house. If I owned a Slingshot, 2 dealers within 25 miles.

I would be concerned because you do have to have service after the sale. It's like my neighbor who bought a Chinese no name diesel generator. It worked for 8 months and then the armature burned up in it. Then it took 4 months of back and forth with the place where he bought it to get a replacement. Then we had to spend a weekend figuring out how to disassemble it and replace the part. What started out as a smoking deal ended up being a nightmare.

I haven't seen the SONDORs Service and Maintenance Business Model.

Arcimoto is planning to have Service and Maintenance Partners in place:

Elio has a plan but no way to produce the product. I am sure Sondors will have a plan by the time it is offered for sale. I am still waiting for any Elio information as to a production date for my vehicle.

Worst case scenario ship it to a neighboring State location, pick it up, and drive it home. I ass.u.me those States would register and license vehicles driven in from another State?
That's what I'm planning to do with Elio, if they ever ship. I believe I can go to either PA or IN to pick mine up.

I was just curious as to if Arcimoto had come up with anything, or released any information about these situations. If they had, then hopefully they would also apply to Elio.

Only a small handful of States have anti-direct to consumer sales restrictions (Targeted at Tesla) in place that also restrict Arcimoto's and SONDOR's on-line purchases with delivery to your garage door business model. You can ship it to my house Rick..........I'll keep an eye on it for you :p

How do/will they get around the dealership restrictions that many (most?) states have in place? You can't sell a motor vehicle of almost any kind in Ohio without having a franchised dealership with a physical storefront in the state. This includes all forms of online sales with in-state delivery, as that constitutes selling vehicles in the state. Note that Ohio does not have a "motorcycle exemption" where the franchise laws only apply to four-wheeled vehicles. Other states also have similar restrictions, and documented by the many efforts of Tesla to sell from factory-owned stores.

Thank goodness most industries don't have the bull crap that unions from the automotive world have thrown at us. I suppose you could count your local grocery store as a "dealer"...

no way to produce the product??? Elio at least has a factory already. Maybe Sondors could lease some space from Elio or Racer Trust or whoever owns the rest of the old GM plant...

Caddo Parish owns the plant. Stu's IRG has leased it for (I believe) 20 years.
