My old Subaru (2006) has a weather band on the radio. I cannot imagine that would add too much cost to a radio but it is very useful. Most areas have a weather radio station and I listen to it almost every time I drive the roo

That would be a heated windscreen. Ford did that back in the 80's and for some reason it's quite popular in Europe bu not here. They now call it the Quickclear Windscreen and even on cheap cars they have it (i.e. Ka). They could also add heated rear view mirrors to the package.

If you have not had any experience with a little aluminum engine, you get useable heat from the engine after about a mile and a half of driving. It is all the way warm after about 4 miles

I've had lots of experience with aluminum engines. They do not heat up super fast unless it's a VW with the E888 engine in it (it has the water cooled exhaust manifold). I have a great comparison right now because my wife has a CRV that has an 1.5l all aluminum turbo 4 in it. Trust me it takes way longer to get it warm over my VW. I can take the same route with both so I got an idea as to when either one gets heat at the same outside temp. The CRV will get heat in about 10 minutes of driving, the VW takes about 3. I'm glad the CRV has remote start because it needs it. Plus if you drive one of those sub 1000 cc 3 cylinder cars in places like norther Germany where it is around the same temp as what I see in PA, they take forever to get heat and normally cool off unless you cover up part of the grille.

My Truck blows hot air approximately 1 second after I start it. It's got the 6.7L Diesel... and supplemental Cab heater element in the ductwork... :)
