Donn Miller, I question your stated Reservation #.
The highest number I have seen is around 22,500.
Sure would be nice if your SIL is that high. :)

Call it a security token, call it a stock certificate, either way EM is not making progress getting funding which puts this venture into question. All our discussions here are academic without funding and a start date. Maybe because the market’s been down two days, but at some point, we have to face reality that we may not see production commence.

Curious what brings you to the forum friend. It doesn't seem like you are pro-Elio but cheering their demise.

While not directed at me, allow me to shed some light on what might be the very plight of many Elio diehards that are losing faith.

I was once a faithful supporter. I sat in the P4, P5, and E1c prototypes. I visited the Detroit Auto Show specifically to find out if Elio Motors would be camped out in the atrium outside the main show floor. I own a few hundred shares of ELIO stock, 100 of which purchased at the hefty $12 IPO asking price. I hold a non-refundable All-In reservation with an SIL and am locked in at $7,000 with a commitment to purchase should the opportunity ever present itself. I have also read every Three Wheeling and Momentum blog post in their entireties.

Having disclosed that much, I've also read every SEC document that's been released to date and kept tabs with current events on this forum and select Facebook fan groups over the years. There comes a time when you can no longer cheer for the sake of continuing to be a cheerleader or fanboy. Track record, time, competition, mismanagement, misuse of funds, lack of transparency and a slew of other objective, fact-based factors have driven me away from the Elio saga.

I hold absolutely no grudges or distaste against anyone who continues to support the mission and vision. Nor would I slander anyone who publicly announces that they can no longer support the mission and vision.

In all truthfulness, my present state of mind is this: given every fact known today, Elio production is likely not going to commence until Q4 2020, at the earliest. This assumes that no further lapses in funding are encountered; that monies received are actually invested in business works to further the cause of bringing a roadworthy vehicle to production rather than paying off RACER Trust, Shreveport Business Park, Stu Lichter, ESG, Paul Elio and his Directors; that Patrick Byrne's tZero STO trading platform receives a first-of-its-kind SEC approval and commences operations without a hitch; that suppliers that had been on board in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, etc are still in business and still willing and able to conduct business with Paul Elio; that the residents, regulators and politicians in Caddo Parish, LA don't rise up in mutiny when the next deadline to create 1,500 new factory jobs once again comes and passes without any activity during yet another election cycle (2020) while Elio presents itself as an easy target; that Stu Lichter continues his pacifist involvement and cooperation in the project, allowing Paul Elio to defer and postpone lease and loan/interest payments indefinitely...

...the cards are stacked against Paul Elio. Some variables are his doing while some are outside his direct control. But I hope to be proven wrong in glorious fashion. Some say that the sign of a true diehard fan is that they offer negative criticisn against the team/franchise they hold so dear. I will gladly purchase an Elio if given the chance.

Well said. I'd attribute at least some of the current problems on the fact that the opportunity to secure a manufacturing plant came too early in Elio's development cycle. Because the opportunity was there and too good to pass up at the time, they've been behind the funding curve since. It's been nice knowing that WHEN funding comes through, there'd be a place to build them. Unfortunately, that same hope that comes from that level of security has also functioned as an anchor hindering progress. Given the same funding that Elio's gotten, how much further along would they be if they weren't straddled with the loans and fees that originate from the decision to lease the GM Plant from Racer Trust?

On a side note, the 1,500 jobs that were "promised" to Caddo Parish didn't come from Elio but rather Racer Trust. They have that Hyundai Seat business in the plant. How many jobs is that providing? Caddo Parish is making out pretty good on their initial investment, actually. At least Caddo isn't paying to keep the lights on any longer. Plus, it's rented out and that's a positive income stream for them.
