Went to Patrick Bryne's website and asked the question if he will be supporting Elio's fundraising in the future. No surprise, he did not respond (yet). There was one response from an anonymous person who was adamant that Patrick was irresponsible when he gave money to Elio and that they will never produce anything. Oh well, at least I tried.

Remember, there's a class action lawsuit against him and Overstock. It's mostly to do with him spending lots of money on all his blockchain business all while Overstock was failing. It comes as no surprise that Elio will be brought up as part of that.

It’s not clear if Pat personally put in that money or if it was OSTK. Whatever, it sure churned up the stock price: many figured incorrectly that the sentiment was deeply ‘anti Byrne.’ I know I initially did; made some pretty good money on one transaction then lost a whole lot on the other side. OSTK is hard to figure.

That's the reason for the class action lawsuit. Pat used Overstock as sort of a personal piggy bank all while Overstock business was hurting. When you are a public company, you have to be careful and not just draw from that company, for your personal pet projects. It's pretty obvious that the BoD just rubber stamped whatever Pat wanted to do. If it wasn't for the insurance company refusing to cover Pat, he'd still be in charge. Now Pat sold all of his remaining stock and is buying up gold and silver.

I think it's safe to say that Elio Motors is all on their own to get the Eliocoin up and running, so they can raise the money they need. Pat, along with Overstock, have bigger fish to fry at the moment. It now makes me wonder if the updates that Pat had about Elio Motors are just like everything he writes on his blog. Is Elio Motors recoding it for a release in December? Is there going to be a way to jump in line?
