Not surprised he didn't hear of them. My bumper sticker can only reach so many people. I don't think most know about the Elio. And for good reason. All has been quiet for some time now. Ads, newsletters, tour events, SEC reports have all stopped. Only thing left, I guess, is the factory, office rental and prototypes.
I remember that , to keep costs down, Elio was banking on word of mouth ( FB/socMedia) to do his advertising for him..

if I had only put the $1000 in bitcoin instead of Elio, I would have over $200,000 instead of an opportunity to pay 6500 for a non existent car. boy do i feel stupid

When you put it that way it makes it even more depressing, lol
You want to hear something even more depressing. When all this cryptocurrency thing was just starting I traded 550 Bitcoin for a 24 pack of Coke and a few trinkets. This was when it could be mined with Core2Quad PCs with nVidia 9800GTX. Learned my lesson and kept all of the Ethereum I mined.

Does anyone know if this is true or not? I was told by someone that there are several million dollars of deposit money in an Elio Motors account and that each year Paul Elio is pulling a salary of $200,000.00 out of it.

Instead of moping around and kicking yourself in the butt, how about come up with real solutions? This forum is full of smart people that have many years of experience. Why not have a "Hey Paul" section? You need to remember, Paul probably gets 2 hours of sleep every night and wakes up the next morning to find that he's in the same position he was the day before. So, posting things like "scam" or "I gave up" do nothing at all. I bet Paul comes here a few times a day just to see what is going on. That's because any other public feedback is pretty much dead. Paul will never admit he comes here because if he did, there would be a constant complaint section beating that same dead horse.

Suggestions. How about what you'd put up with? If it gave 75 mpg, would that be good enough? If that $7K you locked in got raised to $8K, would you still buy? What if there were 3 different option packages and the Elio My Way was eliminated? There are many things that I bet people could suggest. Just please don't cherry pick one of my examples and then go off on a tangent. Those were only examples of what you can come up with, not set in stone points that must be done.

How about it? Because if you turn it into another complaint session, it'll get deleted and that does nobody any good and it will not get you your Elio any faster. In reality, it does the opposite. There's nothing wrong about being critical but what has been done in the past has been done and you can;t change it. The situation they sit at today can't be changed unless they know that you the Elio owners are willing to give in a bit and won't be hanging Paul because he didn't do everything 100% of what you worked up in your mind as Elio ownership.
My solution is to suggest that someone else offers an Elio kit. If Paul can't get it out, why not someone else? I would buy a kit and build it myself...

Huh? It's hard to believe you don't see the Bex Project here.. unless I mis-understand your back story here.
If you aren't confident about the Bex or just wanting it to be accessible in the moment right now, well I feel for ya there.

But a DIY or kit is not such a hard thing to do for your self in a front wheel drive. Just takes either time or money, well always some of each. Just take some low slung used Honda, and rip it up. A couple years later, and $15k in costs and there you have it. But it may be ugly, so add another $10-20k plus a year and you can make it pretty too. You just have to use the VIN from the Honda to satisfy the licensing.

Now making it super well engineered, that might be a bit out of reach for most of us. That is Mr. Bex's mission in life, by my best estimate.

When the Bex project gets to the point of import considerations for the USA, I would not be surprised if a Kit product is offered as an option.

In fact I have heard that Mark would build a custom lot of 10 bench built cars of any type you like at an awesome wholesale price. If he could confirm 10 people would buy them and can import them. He would even include shipping straight to your import broker. But he might be a little busy for a while, so don't ask just yet.
