Eco Motors - An Elio Suggestion

I speculate that in five years Elio will decide it's to big and retool to down size to the Minime Elio single passenger Electric Vehicle 700 MPGe with 0 emmissions. Could look something like this:

Put the same dimples that a Golf ball has into it and you'll double the range. Man am I creative of what. LOL

PJ Rogers, why exactly are you an elio fan?

From this and other threads you claim to know more about the market that elio is targeting including having a notion that a 3 passenger elio will sell 10 times as much as the current design. You are willing to toss aside all the engineering, development, and business planning that has gone on since 2008 in favor of designs and implementations you know for sure are better, more acceptable, and meet a larger market.

I don't know your credentials but the elio board and the people running the show have some pretty impressive credentials. If you really think elio is missing the mark so badly perhaps you need to put your $'s into the "sure thing" that you envision and go make a competitor to elio. With your assertions for being able to quickly modify things and hit a market 10 times larger than elio I'm sure you will get your money back in short time.

In the meantime, please quit confusing people with ideas that would do little for the elio other than continue to delay production and fragment the already loyal fan base that is committed to the 4 tenets that elio started with and continues to drive toward.

Hi and welcome from Oregon, olstykke. This looks like a very interesting presentation but unfortunately I was unable to get it to play continuously. I had to keep hitting the play arrow. I gave up after 45 seconds and at least the same number of touches. In truth, we are not affiliated with Elio Motors, we are simply all very interested in the Elio as our future personal transportation vehicle. I don't know if you have a connection with Eco Motors or not but you could always prepare a presentation to submit to Elio Motors. I doubt much would be done at this time since they are focusing on getting the final prototypes built and tested and that is taking all their time and money. If you are interested in the Elio you have come to a good place for a lot of information, discussion, ideas, pictures, videos and stories shared. It is a very diverse group and has proven to be a great place to spend time while waiting for our Elios to be produced. We also have terrific support staff if you have any questions or issues so be sure to contact them if needed. I hope you enjoy your time here on the forum and don't take the results of your survey personally. Getting the Elio up and running is a prime focus for all of us and anything that even hints at a delay or increase in price sends shivers up our spines. We really are a very nice group for the most part. LOL :-) Z

This is very interesting and with Bill Gates backing even credible. Send the link to Elio and see if you get a response. No way are they considering changes at this point in the production process, but who knows.......maybe an option for future Elio vehicles to achieve even higher mpg rating. Thanks for the link to EM.

I suggest they stop taking suggestions and stick with the original goal and target before people go bonkers on this forum. For every idea they come up with everyone has 20 they like better. Not saying your idea is in Any way bad but the mods, farkeling, and concepts will flow quickly once they give us a platform to work off of. I feel the Elio platform will be like the Harley market. Everyone trying to quickly make theirs different and stand out from the crowd. There have been Many great ideas on this forum, and many crazy ones. None of which will see the light if we don't get a car to work off of and even less likely if we continue to inundate Elio with or daily demands of change. Just an opinion and again Not a criticism of your idea!!

Always look 5 years into the future and try to figure out what will be the best idea and/or plan.
Please remember the elio is basically a kit car built in a garage which is now going to an assembly line and be massed produced.
To those of you who want the P5 to be exactly like the P4 with minor adjustments, too bad.!

My prediction is: (in 15 months) The 2016 elio will be a 3 wheeled, 3 passenger, with a 5 speed, a/c, tinted glass, and cruise and will sell for about $8700..Add about $800 for an automatic...and it will get over 80mpg..and have a 4 star crash rating.

Notice I said a 3 PASSENGER ELIO, with everything else being about the same as the P4-5..in other words. the perfect 2nd car!
Everybody will want one, commuters, college kids, young families, and singles, & old folks.
EVERYBODY WILL WANT ONE! EVERYBODY!

EM can ride this horse for 5 years without making ONE CHANGE..and sell millions world wide...

Trust me, it is already being planned, what in the hell do you think the delay really is...it's a re-tooling to make it a 3 person elio.
Think about a 3 person elio, in your driveway....the perfect vehicle for everybody...Think I am crazy, just wait and see!

The current design is for a high-mileage commuter, something most of us need. That's going to be the bread-and-butter product that takes Elio to the next level. Others may follow, but this 1+1 is what's going to put Elio on the map.
