There where more folks to answer questions than to ask at a few points. The machine makes a good impression in person. It is a bit scruffier from all the folks getting in and out but looks great. My fat butt fits front and rear.

Got my wife to sit in it my sister had no interest. Got the impression that the folks around the vehicle where mostly the faithful that had come to look rather than converts that had stumbled on to this. Did get there and leave early that may have been different as the place fill up a bit it was fairly empty there while I was there.

I left with no new knowledge but did confirm the fact this works for me.
The most pertinent information, and probably the best answer you could have found was "...this works for me."

I have yet seen someone post that they didn't want one after seeing it in person. Your review, while simple, means a lot to those of us too far away to go see one in person... October in New Mexico will be the soonest I can see it. So, thank you for posting your impression of 'our' Elio. :)

What surprised me is that standing there looking at the vehicle the only question that really mattered to me was " will this get built? " Everything else faded in significance for me. None of them make any difference if it never gets built.

2) when is the P5 expected?
*** I'm not allowed to answer that, sorry, I wish I could.

3) are there still 18-26 P5s planned for production or will that be delayed till another model?
*** I'm not entirely positive on that, I've only been with the show for about 2 months.

4) do they have an estimated fully loaded price for those of us who would opt for every available item? (Heated leather seats, heated-dim able side mirrors, cruise control, floor mats, automatic transmission, Bluetooth radio/phone hookup, etc)
*** We don't have a total price, the list of all of the options should be available by the end of summer, I would guess between $10-$11k.

5) will there be any hotel parking lot events for the days between Stamford CT and Boston MA such as in Hartford CT or Providence RI?
*** NO.
Thanks for asking my questions, now I can drive (hopefully only) 90 minutes, spend 5 minutes to look at and sit in it, and drive back home. Even with a quick trip, no matter the day and time next weekend, I'll be missing at least one of my kid's games.

$10-11k sounds nice for fully loaded.

Hopefully you can get answers to the 2 questions I forgot to ask, and also ask at what speed is the 84MPG?

I'll try to remember to ask those 2. I'll ask about the 84 mpg, but I think that has already been discussed that is estimated EPA highway mpg.

Wikipedia has good info for this subject:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_economy_in_automobiles

The new EPA highway tests include faster speeds on the highway and other items such as AC on, which is why in 2008 my Civic was derated from 40 to 36 mpg highway. In my case, I find the EPA estimates accurate, I did my best attempt at hypermiling one week out of curiosity and I got 38 mpg with mostly highway commute, all other weeks I get 33-34 mpg. My wife does around town driving and her average mpg is exactly the EPA listed city mpg.
