I just want the P4 but more refined. I am most eager for the final product to his the marks of $6800, 84mpg, and it can be as basic as promised. I plan on added the keyless entry, my own stereo, and back up camera if it does not come with it. they are just a few bucks on Ebay. I love the car as it is- and just want it perfected and produced. Even as it is: it is way nicer with better options then the big boys offer for entry level. I would like them to keep the stereo in the single Din design.

Tell that to a 3 year old little girl. It was on the elio videos, they probably pulled it because it shows the little girl running around the huge drivers door right into the path of a possible on coming car. Try You tube.! I mean even a nba ref could see that!
The door is no bigger than any other two door.

Hummm, I was under the impression that the automatic transmission or the manual transmission would be offered for the same price $6800.00.
I kind of like it as is. Ad you own stuff!

IIRC, speculation is the auto transmission will "up" the price by around $800.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned are grab bars. As I get older, I find them increasingly helpful getting in and out of the car. I think two would be great--one for the driver and one for the rear seat passenger. We intend to use ours frequently, with two people in the car.
They're cheap to add on the aftermarket, did it on my own car as I like to have an arm up.

Instead of the side mirrors have they considered cameras and screens mounted to where they give you the feel of looking out the window but mounted inside, they would cut down on drag considerably I would think. I also like the idea of raiseing the back hatch a bit if it doesnt affect the gas mileage. Other then that I cant wait to pick up my base modle Elio up, this will be a commuter for my 45 min to work and I doubt it gets drove in the winter, I will stick with a CRV for the great handleing in the snow Ohio weather never know when its coming so from Dec 1 to March 1 it will be covered. $6800.00 and 84 MPG stick with the KISS program baby, make it right the first time and help put America back on the right track of quality at a working mans price. Now there is something to be proud of.

We have actually discussed replacing the side mirrors in a thread here but what we found out is that it is currently against law. Several automakers have requested that the government update this rule but that is only at the beginning stages so it will likely take several years to actually happen.
