I'm hoping to be soon, at least in that I'm seriously considering the $1000 "I'm All In." Am I correct that Wisconsin looks at the Elio as a motorcycle?

Well that stinks. Currently, I do not have my motorcycle license. I suppose a class could change that. I read that that may change, as legislation to propose a 'new' class called 'autocycle' comes more to fruition. Do you have any additional information about that?

I've contacted my reps when I found this out earlier this year, you should too.

If you do need a motorcycle license, what are worried about? Are you saying that you can not drive the three wheeled Elio around cones in the parking lot without putting your feet down! Or put the examiner in the back of the Elio for the road test. Don't worry about it!

I'm not sure about you, but I'd like to drive my Elio without having to pay an addition tax to the state for an additional license.

Since it is a three wheeled vehicle the Federal govt classifies it in the same class as a motorcycle

Yes, for crash testing, but each state can classifying it differently. How do you think some states say you have to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle and others say you don't have to?

We in wisconsin do not pay a yearly tax on vehicles (autos, trucks,cycles) one time tax on purchase. I have 10 vehicles & 5 cycles. Iicense & drive when I want.

I wasn't talking a yearly tax, I was talking the tax to get an additional license (class M). Some people have budgets that are tight as is...

There is an entire thread on legislation that show what Elio has been doing to address these issues. Use the forum search function to help you find all the comments on this topic. I believe at this point there are only 5 states that still helmet laws that would effect the Elio and Elio Motors is working to enact legislation in each of these states to change that.
