Definitely a great idea. I recall seeing the "pin" map that resulted from the Elio reservation survey and how spread out we all are across the country. What might be a good idea is a website dedicated to Elio owners only where they could publish there name, address, and phone numbers for another traveling Elio owner to reference when on the road in case a problem arises. Thoughts?

Very interesting article although I am disappointed they didn't include prices. Of course Elio will put the others to shame in that department but I suspect the others aren't really designed for people in lower income levels. Thanks for sharing. :-) Z

Wish I could Z. It would take someone much smarter than I to start such a program. Goofyone has seen the idea, and he may run with it. Couldn't think of a much better choice to try and develop such a thing. It's easy to defend/develop a good idea, quite another to come up with a plan to get it going. I'm just to "tech ignorant" to do anything about it. Goofyone, if you can do something like this, maybe call it "The DWR Protection Plan"? LOL

What we need to do is get some of the older tech guys involved since they are likely retired and have more time. I love our support staff but also realize they have jobs and businesses that keep them very busy in addition to this forum. Of course if they are willing and have the time, they have my support 100%. Z

I actually reserved the web domain ElioOwners.org with the intention of setting up a web site with just this sort of information but unfortunately I just do not have a lot of extra time to work on this at the moment so the domain is just pointing at this forum for now.

If anyone has the time, skills, and wishes to volunteer to design and manage such a site we can work with our forum admin, Okuma Steve, to possibly host it on the server that hosts this forum or find another alternative which works.

ST-Owners.com has a similar list for those registered on the site. The site is a forum similar to this one, primarily for Honda ST1100 & ST1300 owners, but other riders are welcome. Anyone who's interested in helping other riders (if necessary) puts their name on the list, with their location, contact info, and any services they're able to provide (trailering, tire repair, lodging, a shoulder to cry on, etc.)

Many of us are long-distance riders (500-1000 mile days) and that list has provided help to many. Housekeeping is done yearly at the first of the year (in the middle of the non-riding season) where the list is purged and everyone adds their name to the list again. This ensures that all of the names, contact info, and locations are current.

Being stranded with no help sucks. Being stranded with a list of help that you may not be able to rely on could be worse. An up-to-date, location based list of other enthusiasts (Elio or otherwise) can be a Godsend.

Love the housekeeping idea! After all, these days people move, change phone numbers, or just lose intrest all together on a regular basis.

I would view EEE as my first go to, depending on the situation, if for no other reason, EEE would hopefully connect you with someone local who would have fairly extensive LOCAL knowledge. AAA is not likely to know Fred's brother-in-law, the local tractor mechanic who can, and would be willing to, fix ANYTHING with bailing wire, duct tape, and WD-40, at 2 AM, just because Fred asked him to! Nor will AAA likely know the best BBQ spot in town, nor the hotels to avoid cuz the "crack ho's" are plying their trade all night there.

EEE could also be an excellent way to make new friends when traveling all around this country, if not the world!

Would I thumb my nose at AAA because I knew about EEE? Not hardly! There may not be an EEE member within 100 miles of your location! I would simply consider EEE another option. Never in my life have I ever complained about having TOO MANY options!!!!
