So I assume many of you have already read the Who Are Our Moderators? thread. Now it's time for the members to join in the fun also. Many of you introduced yourselves when you joined however we want to hear who you are, what makes you tick, your life story, your plans for your Elios, and anything/everything else you wish to share with us.

Feel free to have fun with this, tell us some funny true stores, tell us some stories that stretch the truth, whatever you wish to make this a fun and enjoyable thread for all.:D:cool::)

My father used to say to all us boys (4 brothers) that we were dropped on our heads at birth. And I in particular should crawl back under my rock, and try not to speak when anyone is listening. He was joking. Err I think he was joking. Wait, ammm ahhh, yes, yes definitely joking.
But my dad, bless his heart, is the reason I have any technical talent at all, he was amazing.

What else is fun. My grandfather was there at the golden spike thingy. He also rode in hunting parties with THE Mr. Browning, had a shotgun and photos to prove it. Owned one of the very first cars ever sold in Provo Utah. Eventually was a VP of operations for Utah power and light somewhere near the 50's I think.

And my brother is the 'Father of shiitake mushroom growing in the US', yes he discovered how to do that. You can google that actually.

My second wide (oops;wife) was the descendent of both Sr Francis Drake AND Captain Warden from the US navy both famous sea Captains. That was crazy, glad I'm out of that!

Hopefully that was fun. OK, I'll crawl back under my rock now.

Is it possible you meant second wife in the next to the last paragraph? I'm not familiar with what a wide is. :-) Z

This little story is for the Military, not so much funny but a way of life in a Military family.
My father, " The Commander " and company leader was dying, we were all in his room at the VA hospital and saying our good nights and goodbyes as we were pretty sure he would not make it through the night. We left, leaving my two nieces to spend the night with him and when he passed he would not be alone. Shortly after we left my nieces observed their grandpa was going through the final stage of dying. (We had a great group of staff who explained to us what to look for.) The Doc was called in and confirmed what they were observing. My niece an Airmen in the Reserves walked over to her Grandfather and said, " Grandpa, it's time to go." My father took his final breath and passed Memorial Day Weekend 2013. Now in our family, we joke that for the first time in our family and perhaps in military history an enlisted person gave an Officer an order and he followed through, without argument!

What makes me tick? That's unfortunate you don't seem to understand basic anatomy. However my heart beats pumping blood around carrying nutrients to my cells that have been digested from the food I have eaten. It also carries waste away from the cells along with delivering oxygen from my lungs. ;)

I live in the Atlanta area and spend to much time talking to Goofyone. :D

Ok, who am I ? Well I guess I'll start with my real name Lars Larsen. No not the radio personality, and yes my parents have a sense of humor.
I and my wife (of 8 years) and step daughter live in a small farming community (150 ish) in SE Nebraska.
I have been in the aviation field for 23 years starting out as a Cobra helicopter mechanic in the Nebraska army national guard. During those 6 years of service I began working in the aircraft modification field with 2 different companies in 3 different locations. My current position I have held for the last 14 years is a Master upholstery technician. We refurbish corporate jets with all the bells and whistles. I really enjoy my job and all the people I get to meet along with the places I travel.
Over my 40 years I've driven just about everything from bulldozers to motorcycles and several Allis Chalmers tractors along the way. That's probably why I'm leaning towards the orange Elio. I'm really looking forward to getting this car and being part of the pioneers that we are in this Elio venture.
My time spent here on this forum will probably come and go off and on, but I believe it is a great community that hopefully will continue on for many years down the road. Just a thought came into my head now. Maybe we, the first year Elio owners, should be "charter members" of this forum. Just an idea.
If you liked this great, please post your story and thanks to Goofyone for the invite!
