which part of a religion is a proven fact, - , thought religion was faith based but I could be way off the mark here. doesn't really matter though, this has been the question for centuries and minds greater than ours- well at least mine, have been kicking it around, with no resolve. Back in 1975, the fear was a cooling earth. Science changes all the time. Religions (for the most part) don't really change. I for one, don't have much faith in scientific theories. A proven scientific fact is something to believe in.

My fear is global warming leading to the gulf current slowing too much/stopping and bringing on an ice age.

In my not so humble opinion global warming is not based on real science (repeatable test results) but on POLITICAL science.

Global warming (or climate change if you prefer) doesn't need your belief or your faith. It just keeps on chuggin' with or without it.
It doesn't care what you or I think.
The ice keeps on melting and the water keeps on rising. That at least, is fact.
And concerning these polar vortices we've been experiencing lately...
Like the electrons (energy) having to come from somewhere in our discussions about different types of automotive power sources...
That cold being distributed around the lower northern hemisphere is being lost from somewhere.
It's an additional cause of the ice's demise.
Believe almost all of the accredited scientists on the planet or not, it doesn't matter.
Global warming doesn't care what we think or believe.

When he wakes up ask him if "global warming" was such a sure thing why did they shift the name over to a more vague term called "climate change".
when legitimate records on climate has shown no warming for 20 years. Was it last week that climatologist indicated that ice in Antarctica is at an all time record high since the keeping of records. iIf your going to believe scientist at least believe the ones who actually are scientist in the field of weather. I've never seem a more flagrant example of junk science for political oportunists. (did I hear someone bring up the question of what a straw dog is?)
