Sent a PM with my reasons.
Come on Joshua. Please tell up your PM. Please. Mine is simple I ran the math for the best use of power from any power source and the Elio won hands down. I'm an electronic geek and even have a battery powered self propelled lawn mower and a butt load of trophies from my electric airplane models competitions yet the Elio breaks the mold and wins hands down in my book.

I apologize for replying so late, but I am proud to say that the meeting went very well! Looks like we will be brought on to help ;)

I am throwing out an idea for part of an investment video. It plays on the fact that so many fans of the Elio are motorcycle enthusiasts. If it can be a part of a video, please feel free to use it.

The camera pans over different areas of a very old motorcycle that has been restored to sparkling pristine condition. It moves over the engine up close. It moves over the instrument cluster up close. It moves over the front forks up close. Etc. The narrator talks about how history has been made at various times. He talks about how some people have recognized it and been a part of it. The camera moves back from the up close shot to reveal the entire motorcycle which is a very old and beautiful Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The camera goes out of focus and returns to in focus but is panning over something different. It moves over the headlight up close. It moves over the coil over shocks up close. It moves over the tail light up close. The narrator talks about how history is still being made today. He talks about how some people recognize it and become a part of it. The camera moves back from the up close shot to reveal the entire vehicle which is the Elio.

I really do not know much about these things and the actual video being made may be well under way. Good luck.

Very creative. I would add one more detail. It moves over the headlight.......over the coil shocks.......over the tail light, over the instrument cluster up close.............and moves back to reveal the entire vehicle with custom Harley two-tone paint, open Indian Fenders, and custom wheels.

My Elio will me my AND vehicle.............for the FUN factor..............and I always like DIFFERENT :p

I think that's certainly valid. I'm looking forward to a efficient commuter vehicle that can double as a fun ride on the weekends. OK, it won't haul three baskets of groceries, or take the family on a weekend getaway; that's still going to require a regular vehicle, but that in itself produces a whole slew of advantages.

That full-sized car, minivan, or SUV will probably get about one tank of gas per month (average), even with moderate use as the "second" car. If I buy used, selecting a brand that will retain a good deal of its purchase value, I can save a LOT of money on gas, insurance, repair, and turnover price. Why buy a new car to pound it into the pavement 40-50 miles six days a week? We can buy a nice car for the wife, use it sparingly, and keep the overall investment low. The Elio will save enough money on gas alone to pay out in under three years, so it becomes essentially free. I'm assuming the savings on insurance here will cover maintenance and repair costs. The net result is to have a nice used car in the driveway that collects minimal mileage per year, enjoys that low-mileage insurance discount, and will recover a good portion of the investment at trade-in.

So, it's more than an "and" car, the Elio reconstructs the family budget. Now my wife is thinking she wants an Elio of her own . . . I'm for it; she can't BUY as much when she can't carry it home. ;)
