Hello Elio’ers! As 2014 is winding down to a close, we're gearing up for an exciting 2015. First and foremost, Elio is on schedule to start hitting the road at the end of next year which is obviously, beyond exciting. Second, the tour is expanding. We plan to continue making regular stops throughout the country as well as adding in even more popular events.

As we did last year, we're kicking off the year on the road at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. And we're kicking off in a big way. At this year's CES, Elio will demonstrate the optional internet integration system for the Elio made possible by Infinite Skyz. If you missed this partnership announcement, learn more here. Some of the features include in-vehicle VoIP calling and Wi-Fi, remote vehicle monitoring and alarms, remote start, lock/unlock and navigation. The connectivity will also provide Bluetooth 4.0, in-vehicle Wi-Fi internet access, camera monitoring and logging, vehicle location monitoring and accelerometer data monitoring.

As we get into the year, we'll continue to make our presence at the events our loyal supporters enjoy most. And, we're going more automotive. This means NASCAR events, and yes, the frequently-asked-about-on-Facebook auto shows. With our engine soon available for display, it makes auto shows a more logical stop and we look forward to expanding our reach to this audience.

We anticipate 2015 being one of the most exciting times in our company's history and the year in which even greater success will be realized. To that we say, bring it on! In closing, we'll leave you with words from Henry Ford as a reminder of our mission in forging ahead:

This means NASCAR events, and yes, the frequently-asked-about-on-Facebook auto shows. With our engine soon available for display, it makes auto shows a more logical stop and we look forward to expanding our reach to this audience.

There is a lot of good news in this short paragraph. This should pretty much put to bed any of the tour cutback rumors which are popular this time of year. Also, many of us following along had expected that as production neared EM would begin attending bigger events where both more people would be exposed to the product and where they could easily garner more media exposure. These events are of course more expensive but as EM nears production spending on marketing will increase anyway.

EM mentioning having an engine available for display soon will of course be important for the tour but also points to movement in the engine development program. What exactly EM means by 'soon' is still TBD as this could be a few weeks or a few months however it is good to see them discussing this.

I was kind of hoping they would tout this as being the year the vehicle would hit production. They chose not to go there in this first of the first of the year statements.

I think as Elio starts to present at auto shows, they may want to emphasize performance (handling, fun factor) as well as high mpg.

It is my understanding that EM is looking at two major auto shows this year. New York in April and Los Angeles in November with possibly more next year. I know those shows are quite expensive so it does sound like EM is trying to get the most bang for there buck with those two shows.

As the New York auto show runs April 3rd - 12th, 2015 this does actually give us an estimated timeline on what EM calls 'soon' for having that engine ready for display at the auto shows.
