Evey one of these that cost as much or more than a full sized car is doomed before it gets off the drawing board.

Part of the problem is it is electric powered and people that do long distance commuting can't use this car unless it is a hybrid.. In a sense these cars are a good thing as they helped pave the road for Elio.. Paul knows the shortcomings such as price and driving range and can drastically improve on this..

There is - supposedly - one built in the USA and one built in China. It would be neat to see a hybrid version or a version with a gas engine. Perhaps they could extend the range with fuel cells. Perhaps similar to the one from Intelligent Energy.
