That's the point I was trying to make: there's no danger of plastic or metallic logos hitting your face since the airbags deploy through hinged or frangible seams.

Ok, here are some images to prove my point. ALL of these emblems are hard plastic/metal. Right on top of the air bag.
The picture of the Elio steering wheel is from a previous prototype, it is no longer being used.
And the "chrome" is not metal, it's plastic; none of the steering wheels you pictured have metal; oh they might have a "leaf" thickness of tin but "leaf" thickness is thinner that a sheet of paper, and it is encased in clear plastic.
Not even close to the metal they used prior to airbags.

Nickskeys, may I ask how long you have worked in the automotive field professionally?
This is a real question that I am being 100% honest about.
Or perhaps I should ask it this way; what do you do for a living and for how long have you been in that career?
