That's because there are too many "shiftless" drivers in the USA.

There's just something wrong about a Jeep with an automatic transmission.

It wasn't the tranny that made her dislike it so much; it was the lift kit and wheels and tires she put on it.
She drove my Nitro and it's actually pretty close to the same vehicle, and the first things she said was "it's like the Jeep only more civilized going down the road"

years ago when AMC dropped the first 327 V8's into their Wagoneers and Cherokees they found that when used for hard crawling through the back woods they would overheat when mated with a straight drive ... the auto transmissions with their separate coolers did well .... I've owned 6 Jeeps over the years have had 3 or 4 speed manual transmissions .... if I were to buy another today, it would have an automatic
