Legal: Motorcycle License And Helmet Laws

I consider Massachusetts as the Socialist Republic of Massachusetts. LOL If you want to know why? Massachusetts more or less declared DUIs were not to be penalized with higher rates. In other words the average guy is to pay the same rates as a multiple accident and ticketed and dui clients spread over the entire risks factors. The States rules were so limiting that I could not stand the expense of issuing the policies. Another classic case of Government fixing the problem. Sound familiar? My Guess is that Mass is probably the most expensive State in the union.

DUI costs a small fortune in Mass. I hate to tell you! The wages are higher here so the repair rates are higher too.. Things were different years ago so that's what your probably thinking.. Insurance companies enjoy gouging people in ALL states..

The information I have (which is several months old) only under 18 y/os have to wear a helmet. I am under the impression that you are at least 19. LOL Z

At goofyone's suggestion, I dropped a note to Joel Sheltrown, Elio's VP of Gov't Affairs, asking if he knew Georgia's position on whether a MC license will be required here. I got an immediate response, which seems to be good news. Here 'tis:

I believe the language in GA already exempts for M license through a technicality in language. That said, DPS employee working the issue said: “Interesting. You may be right” I am asking for a determination on that, but at any rate, GA wants to make the change to accommodate the exemption. We already have a helmet exemption in statute. We will get it done before production!. If not, I will rely on the current statute which seems perfectly clear to me!

Joel emailed me also.......saying that he will do a followup to my Idaho Department of Transportation email request to modify the current MC endorsement requirements for the Elio exemption by 2015. Very positive response.

Location, location, location... and driver experience. My insurance almost doubled when I moved from Minot, ND to Albuquerque, NM and in about 2 months, it will more than double when my 15 1/2 yr old gets her license... So, I'll be paying almost 4 times what I was paying in Minot, ND. And that sucks.
