Ford is not going to be interested in getting into the Motorcycle manufacturing business. Besides, a motorcycle would not be counted in any automobile manufacturers C.A.F.E. numbers. If they did, Honda could produce all the gas guzzling behemoth super cars it wanted and not even get close to not meeting the CAFE requirements. All those scooters and CRF 50's get really good economy.
Good point.

Looks like they're doing what they said they would do :
IDB purchased the plant in December with $7.5 million in parish funds after commissioners discussed myriad financial options to assist startup automaker Elio Motors. The auto company had announced plans earlier in the year to purchase the plant, bringing 1,500 jobs.

Under the agreement, IDB would lease the plant to California-based industrial developer IRG, which would assist Elio Motors in setting up operations at the plant and sublease the remaining space.

This also from Facebook( I know,I know):
Tim GillespieJust got a message from Elio Motors - it was simple and to the point - "We have secured the plant in Shreveport, LA"....

The only thing I do not like about this is that now there is another company with their hand out... By "assist Elio Motors" they mean add another layer of capitalism, and try and get as much out of Elio as they can.

This isn't another company with their hand out. It is from the original plan like Kuda27 said.
