I was Airforce from 1983-1988 and Airforce reseves for about a year in 1989. I was a crew chief on F111E and and F111A at RAF Upperheyford England and Plattsberg AFB in upstate New York, Then I was a crew chief on A10's at Barksdale in Louisianna in the reseves,

As a crew chief, did you ever have to fill in for someone who didn't show up for duty?

Warthog & Aardvark
Two of the best all round aircraft ever produced.
I remember putting together a model of both of them back in the mid 60s.
Saw the Aardvark take off and the Warthog in action in Iraq. There's just no mistaking the sound of that gun. Speed roping out of a Blackhawk at the end is what I did over there with the 101st.

Oh man that brought a tear to my eyes. Many of those were aircraft I worked on in blue bravo I saw a yellow tail and the EF was from gray.

As a retired infantryman I absolutely loved the Warthog.
