2016 Milestone Countdown: Number 5
It’s often said that time flies when you’re having fun. It can also be said that time flies when you’re making progress. It may be cliché, but it’s hard to believe we’re entering the final days of 2016. This year has seen some major steps forward on our mission to change the way Americans move. Over the next few weeks, until we reach the New Year, we will take a look at some of the biggest Elio Motors milestones of 2016.

#5 – Taking Center Stage
Innovators naturally attract a considerable amount of attention. It should come as no surprise that Elio Motors CEO and founder Paul Elio is in high demand for speaking engagements. From the power of crowdfunding to the difference an American vehicle can make, Paul is well-versed in a number of relevant and intriguing subjects that are currently trending. Simply put, people want to hear from Paul. As you can imagine, the schedule for a startup CEO is jampacked, but Mr. Elio made time to speak at several different events this year. In July, Paul presented in front of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee to share Elio Motors’ experience with Regulation A+. In September, Paul addressed the crowd at the Gateway Conference in San Francisco.
2016 was also the year that the Elio began gracing television screens across the country. In January, we launched our first national television advertising campaign titled “Own the Future.” In June, we announced our partnership with the funny folks at The Onion, a revered satirical digital media company. Our collaboration focused on our universal appeal, sprinkled in with some light-hearted political humor. Perfectly timed for this year’s elections.
If you’ve been following Elio Motors, you know that our Tour Team is perpetually in motion, zigzagging across the country to show off the Elio. Our vehicles may attract the spotlight, but every member of our Tour Team works tirelessly to educate event attendees and ensure they have a fantastic experience.
In the past 12 months we’ve attended some of the premier auto shows in the world, including Detroit, New York, and Los Angeles. We’ve also displayed our vehicle at events like SEMA and Barrett-Jackson. Our 2016 schedule included a wide variety of non-automotive events like the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the Mojave Experimental Fly-In, Salt Lake City ComicCon and the Reno Air Races. We want to sincerely thank everyone who made the effort to come out and pay us a visit.
2016 was a fantastic year for Elio Motors as we took center stage at numerous events and had the opportunity to meet many of our future Elio owners. However, 2017 promises to be an even better year in the spotlight.
