A lug wrench and jack could be stored easily anywhere, spare tires on a rim are another story.

MORGAN FOUND A GOOD PLACE FOR A SPARE ON THEIR THREE WHEELER .

On the Elio, mount one size one in one side; the other size on the opposite side, on the outside of the body, towards the rear.
Make a nice Aero cover for them so they would blend in with the body. :thumb:

I think something like that wouldn't be too difficult for the Elio. You only need one spare, so make it a front tire size. The spare is just to get you to the shop and get the main tire fixed, right?

That might work. I think the front tire is 23.5" in diameter, just an ooch bigger than rear width.

You'd also need 2 different size tires.
Or just use one of these; it's enough to get you to the shop (and if you're like everyone else that had one of these, first home, then the grocery store, and back home, and to work the next morning, and home because you don't have the money for a new tire, or the time; and repeat these steps until the spare fails).

And just think...

Unlike declaring yourself un-cool to the entire community by running a doughnut on a four-wheeler for weeks...
No-one will able to notice how un-cool (or financially challenged) you really are because the doughnut will be under the Elio! :D

Might even be a reason to re-think those optional open fenders.
