Today, San Diego ' s Mayor Kevin Falconer just proposed a drastically Green plan for our city! This just made my Elio's value increase before she is even produced. Thanks Mayor Falconer, we Tea Party citizens love you.

I was afraid to ask!

Your fear is warranted, and confirmed - Copy/paste from the comments section below a KPBS article. Highlighted and underlined the part that cracked me up. He needs to put down the carrot stick, and pick up a 2nd grade math book! And these people are allowed, and in fact encouraged, to vote! o_O

What’s missing from this and most CAPs is a call to eliminate or reduce livestock consumption, which accounts for up to 51% of greenhouse gas emissions. http://blogs.worldwatch.org/re.... Not to mention, water usage: A single quarter-pound beef patty requires 660 gallons of water (to irrigate the grain, water the cow, process the meat...), enough for two months of daily showers. http://cowspiracy.com. Save the environment--and water--go vegan!

This was quite the snarky post. Actually there is a lot of truth in what Mr. Weinberg states. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations:

The livestock sector emerges as one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.

You can go here http://www.fao.org/publications/card/en/c/9655af93-7f88-58fc-84e8-d70a9a4d8bec/ to download their report. Or you can just Google "livestock and greenhouse gases" to get detailed information. I am not a practicing vegan so no need to flame me but I would suggest that before you haphazardly dismiss information that maybe you want to educate yourself (as you suggested this person do).

Truly there is no need for anyone to eat animals or their by products (unlike having to drive) so the cessation of this type of consumption would go a long way to dealing with the environmental issues created by livestock.

on that point I believe you will find considerable disagreement .... while I respect the belief of those who choose to follow that lifestyle, I vehemently reject the concept that they have the right to inflict it on those who disagree

Point taken. My "snarkiness" was deliberate. I guess I get a little miffed when I read comments pushing for more government intervention on what I can eat, the max. size drink I'm allow to buy (i.e. - Bloomberg), or anything to do with the liberal agenda, and them wanting the Gov't to control every little aspect of my life.

As for water? There's the same amount on this planet as there was 4 billion years ago. It recycles...except in California apparently.

And as for 'educating myself', I did, and found out where that BS 51% number that's everywhere came from.

http://www.terrapass.com/society/livestock-responsible-for-51-of-greenhouse-gas-emissions/

Not going to flame you, you're entitle to your own opinion.

Have a nice day! :)

Couldn't agree with you more on that.

Wholeheartedly agree. I'm an adult and can make my own choices, even if they seem "bad" to you.

We all have similar views on control and government intervention. What I took issue with was the "snarkiness" of the two posts alluding to an issue with the idea behind veganism. Maybe I read your intentions incorrectly so for that I apologize.
