For myself, the only flat I've had in 40 years of driving was related to when I was building my house. The house was being built in a new sub division with lots of other houses being built at the same time. Everyday you would see construction workers and their trucks leaving "goodies" behind. The one flat I had was from a nail off one of those trucks.
I have a friend that owns a tire store. He told me that (his opinion) Hailstorms contribute to flat tires more than anything. He explained: Hail damages house roofs. The shingles are stripped off and hauled to the dump or landfill. Loose nails bounce off of the truck en route. Then our tires pick them up.
