Rather than a rally, what about a relay? You could map out the course and get people to sign up to drive certain parts of it. I can see a log book that gets signed by each driver with maybe a map of the route and a web page for pictures that get taken along the route. There could be some kind of password protection on the web site that is in the log book or something. Someone more tech savvy would have to come up with that.... an interactive map so we could see where the Annual Elio Owners National Relay was. At the designated meeting spot, you would pass the baton (log book) to the next person who would then drive their leg of the trip. If done right, overnight stays wouldn't be required as each person could drive half a comfortable day's drive to meet the previous guy, half a day back home for the night, and then half a comfortable days' drive to the next meeting point to pass the baton. :D

As many Elio drivers that want to could meet and make the drive. They could even make several legs if they had the time and inclination. You should have enough people who would want to drive multiple legs to make it seem like a continuous group of cars.

We could do a relay like going over the historic route used by the Pony Express. Maybe call it the Pony-Up Express Rally.
