Highly likely IVA is hold engine until cash due is paid. ELIO has no money and the equipment is not selling. IVA is not going to turn over the engine until paid.

This is not true. The folks at IAV have proven themselves to be much smarter than the random people making stuff up on the internet as IAV simply does not extend credit to a new start-up company. Instead they broke the project down into sections with amounts due up front to complete the work. We know this from the last Elio Motor town hall.

NOT talking 'politicians'.... just Elio Motors, that made the 'claims', took our money,.... then failed to PRODUCE...... and STILL making the 'claims' and taking money.... when they have publicly stated that they can't meet the PRICE or MPG.

Paul Elio said at on January 7, 2015 while being interviewed for Jalopnik: "If we went into production immediately, it would be 81 miles per gallon, and $7300. I don't view it as a failure, and we're working hard to hit our numbers because I think we have a decent shot of doing it. That number isn't made up, we have every single part that's required to make this vehicle, we have 87 percent quoted by part number and 98 percent by dollar value. So we can do this, I have the data to back it up."

It's kind of hard to misinterpret what Elio is saying, they are very close and have have a "decent shot" at meeting the PRICE and MPG. Not that those numbers mean much.

81 mpg and $7300.0 would be fine. I think most will agree. So if that statement WAS true why haven't that put it to the people and got the show on the road. They could always improve as time, sales and technology improves.
Who on here would refuse to purchase one at 81 mpg and for $7300.00?

Yup I noticed a comment from Branden Carey some time ago too about 25 prototypes. For all we know there might be 25 engineless prototypes sitting in storage somewhere. Personally I think it makes sense if they had the money upfront, and already had the P4 jig to just crank out a few more. It sucks to be on the public side NDA's.
Jerry V told me that Elio is not starting the prototypes (leaving the money issue aside) until they have completed engine testing -- they are concerned that any vibration issues uncovered might dictate where the engine mounts actually go, and they want that information prior to starting construction on the prototypes. But I think it's mainly money. They definitely don't have 25 shells gathering dust.

I will refer you to ELIO's WEB sight it clearly says 84mpg and $6,800. Now I personally understand those targets may be missed by a bit but it is what they are selling.
As for the engine if it is paid for and fully ELIO property , then where is it why has it not been paraded to the public. It is as of now about the most important mile stone to build confidence in ELIO.

We've been over this in other threads. Paul is determined to find the sweetest spot he can between 6800, 84mpg, and safety. That's a matter of finagling every bit of the way. He'll settle for less than those goals when he has to, but not before.

So you think he can produce the car NOW with 81mpg and for $7300. and he is letting his goal stand in the way of getting the Elio on the road, making money and producing customers? That is not the case and everyone knows it. It's money, he is broke.
I think if all the 40K people registered would say 65 mpg OK and $7800.00 OK were to pay in full he still could not get the show on the road.
We will know by Jan. '16.

Sarcasm doesn't play well in a post without an emoticon to help us slow folk......
It kind of wasn't sarcasm.

I've never purchased a new car that got what was on the sticker for MPG, I've gotten less miles and I've had a car that got a lot more. The MSRP is a bit more of a real number for me, though I've bought new cars for more and one less than MSRP.
