Well, Tesla Motors got away with "Tesla" (*technically, the Tesla Model S 70D, but who in the world actually calls it that?) KISS principle here folks.

That's no different than a Chevy Impala or a Dodge Charger or a BMW 325i
It's manufacturer - Model name

Difference being, at this time, Tesla is only offering 2 models.
That's why you'll hear "Tesla 2 door" or "Tesla 4 door"
