Aisin, the manufacturer of the Elio transmission, is a North American supplier. One of their plants is in Crothersville, Indiana.

Crothersville is about 12 miles from my home.. Go figure.. Don't know if they make the transmission there because there are several Aisin plants in the area.

That's what is typically in European cars.

AMT's don't have a clutch pedal.

If you go to this site:http://www.aisin.com/product/automotive/ Click on drivetrain related products you will get a popup click the tab on top marked other. Right in the middle will be the most likely "automated transmission" by my guess. it is a control package for an existing manual transmission.
